Every child who plays amateur sports dream of getting to see their hero play live and in person. In North America this dream is relatively easy as there are numerous opportunities for our kids to experience seeing the pros live. However with soccer it's not so simple, most kids involved in youth soccer dream of seeing players like Ronaldo, Messi and Bale live. These names conger up just as much emotion as Crosby, Gretzky or Ovechkin for young soccer fans. For youth soccer players the closest they'll get to seeing their heroes is on PVR'd games and YouTube highlight videos. The experience of watching legends on the pitch is just not possible.
Our goal is to change all that. With your help we are looking to send a team of 12 dedicated U12 boys from Langley United Soccer Association to train and immerse themselves in the heart of soccer culture. Madrid, Spain is home to two of the winningest teams in European and World competition. Athletico Madrid and Real Madrid have dominated the soccer world for decades. Madrid is also home to the Spanish National Team Training Center, this my friends is hallowed ground! Players like Iniesta, Silva and Ramos have trained there. This center will host our boys for 12 days as they experience what it's like to train with the best. The team will spend 12 days training with the technical team from Real Madrid. They will eat, sleep and live soccer for 12 days, feeding their passion for soccer for a life time. And YES, while they are there they will get to see their heroes battle it out live on the pitch. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and with your help this will be one of those life changing events that will stay with these boys forever.
