When you're half way across the world and can only standby as your parents and grandparents houses are being destroyed by raging flood waters.
-This is a message between myself and my uncle. "Silver" is my grandmothers cat. A helpless feeling he and I shared as he awaited news from Dallas, Tx. August 13, 2016.
As of August 12, 2016, Gov. John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency for the entire state of Louisiana as a result of severe weather. The declaration is in effect until Saturday, Sept.10, 2016.
With four parishes as of Sunday, Aug.14, declared disaster areas and water still raising, thousands of families are left with nothing but the clothes on their back.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana is my home, I am stationed here with the United States Navy. From 1,500 miles away I am doing what I can to bring awareness and gather resources to bring to those who have nothing. The funds will be used to haul a truck from San Diego,  California to Baton Rouge, Louisiana full of donations. We need items of all sorts. Donations will be collected in the San Diego and Dallas area.
I AM COLLECTING DONATIONS OF NEW AND GENTLY USED
Clothing
SHOES
SOCKS
BLankets
BAGS OF CAT AND DOG FOOD
PILLOWS
SLEEPING BAGS
HYGIENE PRODUCTS (shampoo toothpaste brushes etc) ,
DIAPERS,
WIPES,
FORMULA,
STUFFED ANIMALS (FOR ALL THE CHILDREN FOR COMFORT)
Books and games for all ages
AND EVEN SCHOOL SUPPLIES WILL EVENTUALLY BE NEEDED

I also have a link connected to a gofundme where I am raising funds for this effort. The funds collected will be put towards transporting all donations to Louisiana and buying what we need that was not donated. A lot of my friends and family are affected and have lost everything. Let's come together in this time of need. Even a hug or a prayer a good vibe will be great fully accepted.

My spouse and I have two and a half weeks to gather items and donations to bring east!

This will bring relief to those who have lost everything, their homes, their vehicles, their businesses and their city!

Hundreds of friends and family have lost everything to the flood, ANYTHING HELPS! PLEASE BRING AWARENESS!

TOGETHER WE WILL PULL TOGETHER AND OVER COME!

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS!

With Love,

Miranda Weimer
