B&B in Ireland

A few months ago, we were at a small dinner party hosted by a few good friends. During the evening, talks turned to LGBTQ+ issues, and as we were all very keen travellers, the hot topic was about the dilemmas faced by travellers in the community with regards to accommodations in different locations around the world. A lot of what was discussed that night remained in our heads, albeit something that we are both deeply passionate about, where many a talk between the two of us had taken place. Hence, a lot of the issues became somewhat serious, so much so that we've decided to lay everything down in a plan.. a plan that we wish to realise.
We are Kalle & Jules, a Finnish-Malaysian married couple who have been living in Kalle's native Finland, along with Mika, our one-year old miniature poodle, whose favourite things include walkies in the nature, and playing with his Mummy and Daddy.
Having obtained the Bachelors in Business Administration, in International Business, we are both also professionally trained and experienced chefs.
Adding to the merits, Kalle has also studied nursing and has been practising it for years now, and currently works as a staff nurse in Galway.
Having also trained as a teacher of English language for foreign speakers, Jules has years of teaching experience and is a linguist, and is currently training to become a massage therapist.
The dilemma that many LGBTQ+ people face even in the modern world is where to stay so that you can share a queen-size bed without getting strange looks or awkward questions at the reception. Also, is the place a safe haven, where one can be who they are, and can couples of any gender sit, hold hands, and be lost in each others' eyes.
There are many places listed in search engines that advertise themselves as "gay friendly", but some of them are that on paper only.
We recently relocated to Ireland, thus, making this move a fantastic opportunity to finally realising our dream of opening up a bed & breakfast here, in the west coast of the Emerald Isle. Our B&B, which will obviously be LGBTQ+ -owned and run, will not only be LGBTQ+ -friendly exclusively, rather, it will cater to EVERYONE regardless of gender and preferences, where a safe space and environment for everybody is created, enabling them to just be who they are without fear of exclusion.
To be able to make this fabulous dream a firm reality, we need your assistance, as we are looking for extra funding to convince our bank that there indeed is interest and need for another LGBTQ+ friendly B&B in the west coast of Ireland. No amount is too small, no amount is too much.
Currently the property prices are still relatively affordable in Ireland, which means we would have to secure a property as quickly as possible, which is our first step, and this is why we need the crowdfunding.
To have your support for this cause would mean everything. It would help us feel that our dream is validated; that there are others who strongly feel that there is a need for a LGBTQ+ friendly space to relax, to have a like minded stop on a journey around Ireland. Besides it would mean that we could be in business even this year if everything goes as planned.
