La nostra storia
Nel 2016 Mario, Giorgio ed io abbiamo incontrato Tosca, 17 anni, e le abbiamo chiesto che cosa avrebbe voluto fare se avesse potuto cambiare il mondo. Tosca ci ha risposto che il suo desiderio era di fare qualcosa per cambiare la scuola, rendendola più attenta agli interessi e ai bisogni degli studenti. Avrebbe studiato all’università, si sarebbe cercata un lavoro come insegnante e poi avrebbe avuto tempo per concentrarsi sul suo obiettivo.
“Ma perché aspettare tanto, perché non adesso?” Non si è mai troppo giovani per mettersi in gioco!
Così è cominciata l’avventura di Tosca e di circa 60 altri suoi coetanei in LEAD Italia , organizzazione non profit che mette insieme giovani italiani di ogni estrazione sociale, tra i 17 e i 19 anni, con alti standard etici e morali e motivati a contribuire positivamente alla comunità. LEAD Italia li affianca nello sviluppo del loro potenziale di leader al servizio della società, attraverso un programma di formazione di due anni gratuito che aiuta i ragazzi nell’esplorazione delle proprie capacità e dei problemi della comunità e li incoraggia ad agire in quegli ambiti che richiedono intervento, implementando progetti ad impatto sociale.
I nostri risultati
In poco più di un anno sono state realizzate oltre 200 ore di formazione e lanciati 4 progetti sociali interamente ideati e gestiti dai ragazzi, mentre circa una decina è in fase di progettazione. Sara con “Sport per tutti” organizza attività ricreative per permettere ai genitori di trascorrere del tempo di qualità con i propri figli; Francesco ha dato vita a “Incontra una famiglia straniera”, un progetto in cui giovani italiani incontrano famiglie straniere con l’obiettivo di confrontarsi e demolire alcuni dei comuni stereotipi e pregiudizi. Greta invece si rivolge invece ai giovani suoi coetanei con l’iniziativa “Attraversa te stesso”, percorso personale alla scoperta della propria identità. Per i nostalgici della corrispondenza con “L’amico di penna”, Pietro sta dando vita ad una piattaforma online che faccia rivivere in chiave moderna la bellezza di un’amicizia nata attraverso la lettera. Martina invece ha implementato un progetto di orientamento universitario nella sua scuola. Sara sta lavorando ad una “Caccia ai tesori di Conegliano”, un gioco per le famiglie alla scoperta degli angoli più affascinanti e ricchi di storia della sua città natale. Tosca vuole contribuire al mondo dell’istruzione implementando la sua vision di una scuola democratica con il progetto "ABS School". Partecipa al nostro sogno!
I ragazzi accedono a LEAD Italia in modo gratuito, questo per permettere la partecipazione dei giovani indipendentemente dalle loro possibilità economiche.
Per poter continuare a proporre la nostra attività che attualmente è limitata alla provincia di Treviso, allargandola ad un numero maggiore di ragazzi e di città italiane, abbiamo bisogno del vostro aiuto, dell’aiuto di coloro che condividono il sogno di una comunità migliore e che credono nel potenziale dei giovani.
Il nostro obiettivo è raccogliere le risorse che potranno sostenere l’intero ciclo di formazione dei prossimi ragazzi che accederanno al programma a partire da settembre 2018. Nel dettaglio, tali risorse andranno a finanziare:
-300 ore di formazione per 30 ragazzi, l’affitto dei locali e i costi dei formatori
-6 workshop residenziali di due giorni ciascuno su temi specifici (creative thinking, decision making, la scelta di essere leader, superare gli ostacoli, continuous learning, guidare il cambiamento)
-supporto ai ragazzi nell’implementazione dei loro progetti per la comunità
-supporto alla diffusione delle attività di LEAD Italia in altre città italiane aumentando il numero di giovani coinvolti e le iniziative sociali per la comunità
-1 meeting internazionale per dare vita a progetti di collaborazione tra giovani di nazionalità diverse per il bene della comunità globale.
Fa’ la differenza per la comunità e sostieni i giovani di LEAD Italia nel loro intento di cambiare la società. Anche le più piccole donazioni posso fare tanto.

Our story
In 2016, Mario, Giorgio and I met Tosca, 17 years old, and we asked her what she would have done if she could change the world. Tosca answered that she had the dream to change the world of school, making it more aligned to the interests and the needs of the students. She would have then gone to university, she would have looked for a job as a teacher and later she would have had time to focus on her goal to change the world of school.
“Why waiting so long, why not now?” You are never too young to get involved!
This is how Tosca’s and her peers’ journey in LEAD Italia started.
LEAD Italia is a non profit organisation that brings together young Italian people of any social-economical background, aged 17-19, with high ethical and moral standards, motivated to positively contribute to the community. We support youths in the development of their potential to lead and serve society through a 2-years training programme.
We offer a free programme that lets youths explore their skills and the needs of the community and that encourages them to take action in any situation that requires intervention, implementing social projects.
Our achievements so far
In a little bit more than a year we delivered more than 200 hours of training and 4 social projects were implemented, entirely designed and managed by young people. Other 10 social initiatives are in the process of being implemented.
Sara with “Sport for everyone” organises recreational activities to let parents enjoy some quality time with their sons. Francesco started “Meeting a foreign family”, an initiative where young Italian people meet immigrant families with the aim of sharing and demolishing the most common stereotypes and prejudgements. Greta works for her peers with the project “Go through yourself”, a personal journey to discover one’s own identity.
For those who are nostalgic of the correspondence with the penfriend, Pietro is building an online platform that can bring the beauty of the penfriendship back to life with a modern interpretation.
Martina has implemented a university orientation project at her school. Sara in developing a treasury hunt to discover the most beautiful and unknown corners of her hometown. Tosca wants to contribute to the world of education implementing her vision of a democratic school with "ABS School Project". Youths get free access to our programme. This is to make sure that they can take part to the activities regardless of their economical background.
To keep delivering our activities which are currently limited to the Province of Treviso, and offer our programme to a bigger number of youths and Italian cities, we need your help: we need the help of those who share a dream of a better community and who believe in the potential of young people.
Our goal is to collect those resources that can support a full training cycle for the next young people who will access the programme in September 2018. More specifically, such resources will support:
-300 hours training for 30 youths, rent of rooms and costs of coaches
-6 workshops of two days each on specific topics (creating thinking, decision making, the choice to be leader, overcome obstacles, continuous learning, leading change)
-young people in the implementation of their social projects
-the spread of LEAD Italia activities in other Italian cities increasing the number of young people involved and the social initiatives for the community
-1 international meeting to give birth to projects with young people with different nationalities collaborating for the greater good of the world community.
