The Kyler Koat Project

Donation protected
We began this project in memory of our son, Kyler Reese Marshall (2005-2009). We are located in the Peoria, Illinois area but we have mailed Kyler Koats across the continental United States.

Our son, Kyler, was born in 2005 with a severely under-developed brain. Because of this, he was diagnosed with microcephaly, seizure disorder, cortical vision impairment, mental retardation and severe and mixed cerebral palsy. By the age of one, he began to use a wheelchair full-time and had surgery to place a g-tube for feedings. He had many pediatric specialists and therapists on his care team. Once at Kyler's pediatric neurology appointment, we were given a pattern to make a coat to place over his head for the winter. This coat was a huge blessing because we no longer had to wrestle his arms through a store-bought coat. It saved valuable time in the mornings while keeping him warm and most importantly, comfortable. The winter after he passed away from complications due to his disabilities, we felt a strong urge to help others who may benefit from the coat just as we did. This is when The Kyler Koat Project was born.

You can help by making a donation or by refering to us someone who could use a Kyler Koat (facebook.com/KylerKoats). We have small, medium and large sizes to accommodate any age. ALL money donated will go toward fleece, ribbing, labeling, thread and shipping costs. The time spent sewing the Kyler Koats is donated. We want to bless the families without financial burden. Our goal is to gift a Kyler Koat to whomever may need one--across the United States! Thank you for your support!
