Help Koffee brew Black dance!

Donation protected
The Koffee has just started brewing! Koffee is Black dance, Black history, the movement of Black womyn's bodies. Our debut was in 2016 at the New York Burlesque Festival where we brought the house down with our anti-Drumpf, pro-Black act "Formation". Since then we have been trying to bring our artistry to more stages, with dance performances such as "Grown Woman" where we are accompanied by live Djembe drummers in an West African inspired dance piece.

We have new opportunities on the horizon; being invited to perform at Thirsty Girl's Valentine's Day Spectacular at New York City's highline Ballroom on Valentine's day. And accepted in the world famous Jeezy's Juke Joint in Chicago, Illinois in March. As you can imagine this has us eager and excited to make our work top notch. We are also seeking other opportunities to perform across globe such as the annual Burlesque Hall Of Fame weekend in Las Vegas, NV and the Vienna Boylesque Festival in Vienna, Austria. As usual lack of funds stops our art from making progress. We want to be our best, hone our craft, wear beautiful costumes, and present this work in different performance spaces.

Donating to this fundraiser will help us with rehearsal space, dance instruction, application costs, costuming cost, air and lodging, food, and offering ourselves and collaborators a stipend for donating their time and helping us elevate the cost of having to miss time at our day jobs to make this dream happen.

We want to be bigger, bolder and better than we were at our last performance. Our work is informed by West African dance styles, gumboot dancing, step, hip-hop and the art of striptease. We are attempting to create large scale works that is versatile, educational, spiritual and delightful. At the end of this fantastic journey we will close out our season with a themed showcase displaying our gratitude to you, our donors.

We have wonderful collaborators who are supporting us on this journey in order to present you with unique rewards. Collectively Koffee has combined artistry to offer you some handmade gifts as well. We are requesting your help in raising a large sum of money. We hope to exceed our goal by visibility through your support. Our funds go directly to our fiscal sponsor Project-Prosper, who will then allocate the funds to us for each of our needs as a troupe.

Your love donation will propel us to telling the story of the versatility of Black dance as told through the Black womyn body. We can't wait to show you what we have to offer!
