Ken Gammie Farewell Song Commission

Ken Gammie will be retiring at the end of this school year after more than 40 years as a music educator, including more than 30 years at Roosevelt Middle School and Vista High School in the Vista Unified School District. He has dedicated his life to sharing his love for music and inspiring his students.
To commemorate everything Mr. Gammie has done for so many, a new piece of music is being commissioned and will be dedicated to him and Roosevelt Middle School. The composition will be premiered at his final concert as the director of the Roosevelt Middle School band, by an ensemble comprised of current students and alumni.
As a way to say thank you to Mr. Gammie for his years of selfless service and all the lives he's touched, please consider donating what you can to fund the commission and make his final concert a memorable one!
Your Donation
Your donation will go directly toward funding the commission of this new piece of music. The cost of the commission is $5,000. Any additional donations will go directly to the Roosevelt Middle School band program.
The Commission
The piece will be composed by Ted Ricketts and dedicated to Mr. Gammie and Roosevelt Middle School. It will be published for school band literature by Hal Leonard, the world's largest music print publisher.
The Concert
Mr. Gammie's final concert will be held at the Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista, CA on May 19, 2017 at 7:30 pm. The concert is free for the public to attend. The program will include the premier of the special commission which will be performed by an ensemble of current students and alumni.
