Kelsey's Breast Cancer Memorial Fund

Donation protected
We lost Kelsey on the 13th, the day after she saw the girls in the hospital and celebrated Avery's birthday. Now she is with the angels. The funeral expenses alone are more than the initial goal, still leaving all the bills and debts the initial page was trying to relieve. Becuase of her illness, they were unable to obtain life insurance for Kelsey. Kenneth and the girls are extremely grateful for the love and support that is pouring in from all over.  We have received several donations and continue to be amazed by the generosity of loved ones and also strangers.

Please keep sharing and donating.

------------
We have had several family members and friends asking how they can help right now, so we have made an account here to make it easy for everyone.

Kelsey and Kenneth don’t need to stress about keeping medical bills paid that have been unfortunately catching up with them over the past two years. She needs to be able to focus on healing and fighting this!

If you’d like to help, click donate or message me to get their home address if you’d prefer to send a check directly to them.

If you aren’t able to donate please share this page! Every little bit helps, even if you only have $5 to give, your support means a lot to them.

Her Story:
Kelsey was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2016. She had just turned 31 a few months prior.  Those of you who know Kelsey personally are aware that she has been fighting her cancer since. Her initial diagnosis was for inflammatory, triple negative breast cancer, which is basically the rarest and most aggressive form.  After the initial diagnosis, she had chemo, surgery (double mastectomy) and then aggressive radiation treatment in hopes of keeping it from spreading. Kelsey has been so steadfast, rarely complaining, and always putting her family first. After her hair finally growing back from her first chemo, she decided to wear cold caps when she found out she’d be going through similar chemo, this way the girls wouldn’t be worried again from her hair falling out. It seemed like she was in the clear for a short time until it resurfaced in September of last year. Once it resurfaced in her spine, that classifies it as stage four. Which means it’s treatable but no longer curable the way stages one through three are.

For the last year, Kenneth and Kelsey had been traveling to Houston almost weekly for treatments in two separate trials that had appeared to be working initially. The treatments were working until a few months ago when tests revealed some spots were growing. They then began the third trial in Wichita.

A combination of time missed from work coupled with the costs of travel over the past year has started to catch up with them.  Thanks to the generosity of several co-workers donating vacation, most missed time from work had been covered. After traveling for a year there was a lot of time missed with no vacation to cover it. Now with the new progression and hospitalization, Kenneth will be missing more work without vacation or sick days available to cover it.  Basically, the last year has finally caught up to them.  They are very grateful for all those who have rallied around in support over the last couple of years. Many have asked how they can help, so we are creating this fund-raising page for those who are able to provide financial assistance. Any help for this family is greatly appreciated and will cover the costs surrounding Kelsey's care and the family's well-being.
