Kare for Kordelia

Please help Kordelia and her siblings.

 On October 7, 2016, Kordelia Shirley was born with a rare chromosome disorder known as Trisomy 18.  Doctors often refer to this chromosomal abnormality as "incompatible with life". The few children born yearly with the disorder  often die shortly after birth.  Kordelia, thus far, has beaten every odd stacked against her and is now a beautiful 8wk old bundle of light and love.   Because of her delicate health she currently remains hospitalized and will require surgery in the hopes of giving her the best chance at a long, happy life.  However, this disorder will leave her with permanent disabilities and constant need of medical attention.  

Her family is doing the best they can given the prognoses.  What they truly need now is childcare funds.  Kordelia has a long battle ahead of her and  length of hospitalization is unknown at this point. Her parents currently commute back and forth to the hospital which is over an hour from their home.  This has not been easy  as they are both small business owners and have two other beautiful children to care for. So far family and friends have graciously step forward to lend a hand in caring for their other two children.  But, even with all this support, the children are in desperate need of a more permanent, consistent care provider.  When Kordelia returns home she will continue to need around-the-clock care. I'm sure as any parent can imagine, caring for three healthy children is hard enough without managing a business and a child with special needs.  Providing the family with a full-time caregiver would be the greatest gift we could give them right now.


If we can raise enough money to help them pay for full-time childcare over the next few months it will make the biggest difference in not only theirs lives but, more importantly, the lives of their children.  This family is always the first to help others, from donating time to donating services and goods.
