Julie's Neuro Treatment

I invite you to participate in the prayer and  funding of a treatment plan to ameliorate 6 years of serious illness and help me get back into life again!  

In March, Steve and I have the opportunity to travel to see a renowned Craniomandibular Disorder Specialist  who has invented mouth appliances that alleviate movement disorders; airway obstruction during sleep; and improve the muscle balance, alignment, and pain of the head and neck muscles.  The atypical seizures that I have suffered every day have a clear cranial nerve component, complicated by a longstanding temporal-mandibular disorder (TMD); my tight muscles and jaw/head/neck/teeth misalignment press on these twelve nerves and appear to trigger the convulsive episodes.  The attacks, in turn, exacerbate the TMD pain in a viscous cycle of symptoms.  Extensive neurological , infectious disease, toxicity, manual therapies, nutritional, and even counseling approaches have been unsuccessful in stopping the convulsive episodes.  I still go to bed with them every night, often wake up with them in the middle of the night, and even wake up with them in the morning.  This new, bio-mechanical, functional approach to treatment simply makes sense to my medical practitioners, Steve, and myself.

Four initial appointments are required from February 19th to March 5th for a comprehensive evaluation and fitting of upper and lower dental appliances; four to eight follow-up appointments will be required at the specialty clinic for adjustments during 2018.  Steve and I will travel together out of State for the first 4 appointments as I am unable to travel alone at this time.  Thereafter, I am hopeful to be able to travel more economically alone for the follow-up visits as I improve, thus the fundraising campaign budget reflects these savings.

We are humbled by the faithful friends, family, and prayer warriors who have held our hands and hearts during these past six years.  We simply could not have endured the intense trials posed by this illness without your continuous prayers, cards, calls, text messages, meals, rides to appointments, "likes" and words of encouragement on Facebook, and more.  You have been "Jesus with skin on" in the darkest of times for Steve and me.  Thank you!  God bless you!  Let's keep it going just a little longer with faith that the Lord Himself has led us to this exciting new direction in my care.  I look forward to good results and a mighty fine celebration with praise and honor to the Lord for His goodness always.  These trials have not been wasted and for this I am exceedingly grateful.

UPDATE 3/21/18:  The seizures are down EIGHTY PERCENT!!!  I am healing slowly but surely with increasing ability to take care of my activities of daily living.  Please check this site for additional updates.   Steve and I are praising the Lord for you and this change in my life.  Yeah God!  He is Good!  Take care all, Julie
