Season’s Greetings Friends and Family,

First of all, thank you so much for your support coming out to shows, supporting our Yellow Roses EP, and encouraging us on this musical journey! We appreciate you!

As some of you know, we are headed to Memphis to compete in the International Blues Challenge. Dean and I won the regional competition for the “duo act” and are moving on to the next round in Memphis January 16th-20th.

A lot of people have asked how they can help us on this journey!

There are three ways:

1. Come to Memphis, cheer us on, and have a great time enjoying lots of different music from all over the world.

2. Donate money to help us with hotel, airfare, instrument transport/rental, car rental, etc using our GoFundMe page. Any excess funds received will go towards our current recording project with songs written for the IBC.

3. Send us good vibes, energy, thoughts, prayers, blessings!

This is an amazing opportunity for us to connect with musicians and people in the industry.

Thank you for your support,
Love,
Dean & Julie

Julie Amici Update

Our trip to Memphis was an inspiration! On our first stop in Nashville, Vince Gill asked Julie to come up and join them for a song!

As most of you know, we competed in the International Blues Challenge as a Duo. While we did not make it as far along as we hoped, the experience was amazing and fulfilling. We were also very satisfied with our performance and progress as a duo, and we will be doing more of that in the future! As we sat there and watched the finals it was apparent that although our act was very original, it was not traditional enough for the judges.

The experience of meeting so many other musicians from around the world, and hearing their music, is priceless. Being able to perform in the different showcases and competitions on Beale Street was exciting and once again, a priceless experience. We also were introduced to many different blues associations, and found out about a lot of opportunities and festivals we will consider for the future.

We take pride in the fact that we cross over to jazz, blues, folk, and country in both the cover tunes we play, and the originals that we write. We believe it serves us best for our future. We will keep writing our own songs, following our own path, and being true to ourselves and our art. We hope you will continue to follow us on that journey. Thank you for your contributions, well wishes, and emotional support. You were in our hearts and minds through this entire journey.

Hi there!

We wanted to send you a update on our Journey To Memphis!

We arrived in Nashville and spent some of the day seeing the sights around town and visited the Patsy Cline Museum. Patsy's life, stories, and music is such an inspiration for us, we really loved it.

Last night we went to see Vince Gill and the Time Jumpers. A couple if songs into the second set, Vince Gill says "This is the time of the night when we invite a guest singer to join us, and it could be great, or it could be really great.... Is Julie Amici still here?"

Well, Julie had no idea I emailed Vince, sent him a video, and suggested he might like her to sing a song. This was all unexpected for her but she got up and asked if they could go a Hank Williams tune and he said "YES PLEASE". Anyway, the crowd loved it and so did the band. They were so gracious backstage after the show and appreciative of her participation. What a treat!

It's currently 13 degrees here and today we drive 3.5 hr to Memphis in a snowstorm. We where going to go down to Clarksdale for a jam with Rae Gordon but given the weather we may just hang out in Memphis and stay warm and rest up for tomorrow.

We will keep you posted.

love & gratitude,

Dean & Julie
