The Paradee family is a fixture in the St. Louise de Marillac  community. If you’ve been to a Bingo, SummerFest or a volleyball game in particular, you know the Paradees! Mom, Vickie, runs the kitchen for our monthly Bingo, is an aid in the Challengers Class at St. Louise School, Co-Chair of St. Louise Vegas Nights and is an integral part of our Annual St. Louise  SummerFest, serving on the organizing committee and working the duration of the event at the St. Louise beverage center. Her two oldest children, Aimee and Julee are St. Louise School alumni and currently attend Nazareth Academy and St. Joseph High School respectively. The youngest, Brian, is in 7th grade at St. Louise. Mom and children alike can be seen regularly at volleyball practices and games coaching, working the scoreboard and keeping stats. To say the least, their second home is St. Louise Parish and School!

The Paradees recently received some concerning news and could really use our help. After an Ultrasound, CT Scan and an MRI, it was determined that Julee Paradee, 15, had a mass in her kidney. She underwent three separate surgical procedures to scope and biopsy the mass. The final diagnosis is a very rare malignant tumor in her kidney. On May 8th, Julee underwent surgery to remove the kidney. They also removed 13 lymph nodes of which 4 tested positive. Julee began chemotherapy on Tuesday, May 23rd; she will receive 7 rounds of chemo in total. Each round of chemo requires a 4 night hospital stay. The week of June 5th, Julee will undergo another surgery to remove an ovary to try to preserve her fertility. She will also require radiation therapy 5 days a week for 3-5 weeks at some point during the 21 weeks of chemotherapy.

After having said all of this, her prognosis is excellent! Julee has an amazing positive attitude! She is such a fun-loving, sweet and happy young lady; she will always greet you with a smile. She is an avid volleyball player, with a killer serve, and proudly plays for the Chargers of St. Joe’s!

None of us can take away Julee's pain. We all want to but we can't. WE CAN, however, do other things! We can keep praying, sending love and offering support. We can help alleviate the family’s worries about finances and uncovered medical expenses. If you can donate, please do. Your donation will help with non-covered medical costs and ongoing support for Julee and her family.

Pass the word on. The Paradee Family is so grateful for the love they receive and outpouring of support!
