Journey's End Animal Sanctuary is a private nonprofit sanctuary for abused, abandoned, neglected or special needs street animals which are deemed unadoptable.  Journey's End menagerie consists of 45 dogs, 150 cats, 4 horses, 3 goats, 1 sheep, 3 pigs, many chickens, and one blind and handicapped rooster.

Journey's End provides a non-restrictive home setting with lifetime protection and the best medical services available for the remainder of the animals' lives.  Not only do our animals visit regular veterinarians, many of them have appointments with specialists:  Opthamologist- 8 dogs (average visit $250 each), 2 dogs Neurologist ($1400), Orthopedic: pig (hernia operation $1300), 2 cats (amputation $2600);  Dermatologist - 3 dogs ($300 each); Internist - 3 dogs ($2848); and the Farrier for 4 horses ($110 each month).  This is only a sampling of the care our special needs animals require.

Sherlock, Bunny and Puddles were recently visited by Dr. Matt of Volusia Vet Services. Here Sherlock is having his hooves cleaned, which is to be done daily.

Puddles the pig will need to lose weight and Bunny the horse is to start a new medication for breathing.

Overall they are in good health.

A recent visit to Southeast Veterinary Oncology resulted in surprise playtime with a vet tech. As you can see all three enjoyed themselves.

Fortunately they are recovering nicely from their infections and will continue to be monitored closely with daily medication and regular follow-up visits.

Gitty, Snow and Skippy had a visit to Southeast Veterinary Oncology in Jacksonville, FL Friday. Here they await the results, which was all good news!

Love to all the animals at Journeys End, especially Tripod and Buddy. Journeys End is truly the best home for animals that have been hurt, abonded, or have severe medical conditions.
