I am a Living Testimony. (cancer)

Donation protected
I am Joan Darkah.
In November 2014, I had a major surgery.  Whilst recovering from my wound, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I was informed by the Hamatologist that, I had a "small window" to heal, fatten up and start chemotherapy as soon as possible to stop  the spread of the cancer.
By the grace of God, I am still here after receiving some months of treatment with the help and support from my doctors, family and friends. Prior, to my illness,  I worked for a home, where I took care of six mentally challenged women.
Since my diagnosis is 'Acute', I am unemployed and still receiving treatment, which will be ongoing for two and half years.
Commuting  to the hospital  is expensive by Uber or Taxi the safest means of transportation, since I can't drive now. I have reached out to the cancer societies and other Non profit organization's for help but have not recieved any help as the hospital is not in the county where I live now.
I am compelled  to  board a bus and a light rail train to the hospital in Baltimore.  Sometimes, I find myself at the station in the darkness alone, either, waiting for a train or waiting to be picked up, it is very eerie, considering the fact that I have no strength to run nor walk fast, if the need arise.
One day, it was getting dark , I tried walking a little faster to catch the train, and fell down. I could not lift myself up,  untill two kind gentlemen came to my aid.
Currently, I live with my family who have been of great help, however,  it is overwhelming .
I will greatly appreciate your help in continuing my treatment and moving on with my life, by living close to the hospital, hence, reducing the commute. My recovery is slow and I am taking it a day at a time. Although, I am sometimes pain and cannot utilize my limbs fully, I still try to weave some beads, which has been a dream, and I need help stocking up to make some money and also to while away time.  Furthermore,  I will like to study a software certification program to prepare me for the job market. I also have bills to pay.
It has been a long journey, but I have fought through it all and will continue to fight.
I will really appreciate your help.
I want to use this opportunity,  to thank God, the wonderful nurses, and doctors at thet Parkridge hospital, the Greenbaun Cancer Center MD, my family and friends for taking good care of me. Without them I won't be here.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU RICHLY     Joan Darkah
