A Heart For Jim Boyle

Donation protected
Jim Boyle is a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He is 51 years of age and a friend to all. Everybody that meets Jim is better for it. In 1996, at the age of 30, Jim was diagnosed with cancer. After many months of aggressive treatment, Jim, through the power of faith and prayer, conquered his battle with cancer. Sadly the battle was just beginning as the life saving treatment that vanquished the cancer weakened his heart forcing Jim into yet another life altering battle for survival.

In his weakened state, Jim was forced to retire at the young age of 43. An avid outdoors man and hiker, Jim was confined to his home and no longer enjoys the warming sunshine and cool breeze one only experiences atop a hill or mountain. While Jim's heart may be weakened his spirit and will to survive are not. Jim's a fighter and fight he has. Besides the countless doctor's visits, medication and overnight stays in emergency rooms, Jim has endured two separate heart pump operations in hopes of improving his quality of life and delaying the need for a replacement heart; regrettably both pumps failed. Consequently Jim has been placed on the heart transplant list and now resides indefinitely at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston Texas until a suitable donor heart is located.

Thankfully Jim is not alone in his struggles as Jim's devoted wife of 28 years, Maria, has been by his side throughout. Maria must commute a total of 60 miles to and fro each morning and afternoon to be by her husband's side to provide comfort and some semblance of normalcy. As one can imagine, the cost of 24/7 care alone can be financially debilitating much less the cost of transplant surgery and monthly anti-rejection medications, which can run in excess of $1 million. Cost and the anxiety that comes with mounting medical bills should not be a prohibiting factor for individuals in need of life saving surgery. For this reason we, the friends and family of Jim Boyle, humbly request all who read this to please support "A Heart For Jim" so Jim and Maria can focus on Jim's health without the worriment of escalating medical bills.

As the days go by we continually pray for the blessing of a new heart. As always, we place our fate in the hands of God that he call upon one of his many angels on earth to give Jim the precious gift of life.
