For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jill Ingerman. I have had Lupus for the last 20 years and it has attacked my kidneys. In the last 3 years I have been battling with kidney disease, while trying chemotherapy treatments to stabilize my kidneys; to no avail!!!
After a long dreaded 3+ years - Monday night ( October 15th 2018) I received an incredible call from Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami. I was next on the list and a Cadaver Kidney was immediately available, I boarded a plane Tuesday morning with my heart in my stomach. As I entered the hospital "pre-op" took place within an hour - MIRACLE HAPPENED! I Now have a HEALTHY 17 year old Kidney, that saved my life!
I have been on Dialysis since August 23, 2017, which tortures your body, nobody should have to go through this horrific ordeal alone. My experience with Jackson Memorial has be the most comforting. The doctors, staff and facility exceed my expectations and I no longer live in fear. I am now raising money for the next chapter of my unchartered life! The Transplant Team has asked that I stay in Miami for at least 3 months, find a place to stay with my mother and support the recovery process. All of this combined with my expenses, travel and daily care are far exceeding the funds I ever imagined I would need at this point in my life.
