“Support For Jessa as she Battles Cancer”

The Reality
Earlier this year Jessa- a mother, daughter, sister, friend, love and coworker - was diagnosed with MANEC (mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma), a rare cancer that originated in her appendix and spread throughout her abdomen. She has faced chemotherapy, two major surgeries and is now starting her second round of chemotherapy. There will be no clear answers as for when the fight is over; there is no definitive “remission” with this type of cancer, and it is known to be aggressive. To complicate things it has been accompanied by unexplained pain to soft tissue and muscles, which may be a sign of remaining tumor. To some this would be disheartening, even an excuse to give up. But to Jessa it is an opportunity to show her strength, to love harder, to take advantage of new opportunities and generally continue to fight for the long life she deserves.
The Ask
It has been difficult for Jessa to ask for help, but when she has you have responded in droves! Jessa has experienced love and support from so many people who want to help - through faith, prayer, warm thoughts, great wishes, acts of kindness, gifts of food, conversation, laughter, sitting in silence, crying together, hugs, rides to chemo, and childcare. She is so grateful. She now has the hardest ask of all… financial support. The time to give Jessa some peace of mind is now. She has given us permission to create this fund. Please consider donating to it, and spreading the word to ask others to contribute as well. Every contribution—regardless of the amount—is a blessing to Jessa and Isaac. This fund can provide her with a sense of security knowing her mortgage will be paid; her medical bills will be paid; she’ll have a car to drive Isaac to school; she’ll never be forced to choose between medical treatments or filling her fridge. But most of all, Jessa will know that she is intensely loved by so many people.
