I would like to introduce Jenna Bodiford. Jenna is a normal 14 year old girl with the love of God, music, reading and of course singing around the house. She loves her family very much. Jenna is a freshman at Barnwell High School. I’m going to share with you her story that shows her faith in God and her strong ability to keep pushing forward. One day Jenna’s leg started hurting her pretty badly. After being examined the doctor believed she pulled a hamstring and began treatment. This was only the beginning of Jenna’s battle. A short time after this Jenna fell getting out of the shower and was unable to move one of her legs. After meeting with specialist they decided to do an MRI. Results showing Jenna had a mass growing in her lower back..... a cancer specialist was called in. After a week and a lot of test including a surgery to test bond marrow, Jenna was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma..... Stage 4 Jenna is currently in the Children’s Hospital Of Georgia. Jenna has already been through 10 treatments of radiation and 5 treatments of chemo. As of now she is already scheduled for 54 more treatments of chemotherapy. The doctors are hoping to shrink the mass in her lower back being that Jenna is currently unable to walk due to the cancer has her nerves wrapped up in itself. Jenna is a very strong young lady with her faith in God to carry herself and her family throughout this tough journey. As she is battling this cancer head on, it’s taking a lot of strength from not only herself but from her love ones. Jenna is on week 4 of being in the hospital. This leaves her parents with a 2 hr round trip back and forth to the hospital. Once Jenna is released from the hospitals, she will need to return multiple times a week for treatments and sometimes have to spend the night because the chemo will be very strong. As of this current week due to the chemo treatments and radiation Jenna is experiencing some stomach issues. The radiation has inflamed her large intestines causing pain and other issues that come along with it. She has also started running a fever of 102 degrees. The doctors are running test to find out the cause of the fever. She also has low white blood cell count and is receiving treatment to increase her white blood cells and getting a blood transfusion. Throughout all the pain and complications that Jenna is facing she continues to be motivated with her faith in God’s hand and doing all this with a smile on her face. As her brother reported she is being very strong and pushing herself to walk, so her parents and family don’t have to move heFamilyr around much when she leaves the hospital. She is a very strong young women and is ready for the battle in front of her. Jenna herself and her family feels blessed with all the love, support, and most of all the prayers they are receiving from everyone. The money raised will go to help provide anything needed from medical/hospital bills to the cost of gasoline to help the family get Jenna back and forth to her treatments. Jenna nor the family aren’t expecting anything from anyone but they do ask if you can keep Jenna in your thoughts and prayer. Thank you so much from The Bodiford & The South Carolina Bearded villains
