Help Jeff Smith Climb His Mountain

For the first time in 3 years, Jeff and Rachael Smith were able to get away for a vacation to Lake Tahoe. They left their 3 young children (ages 1, 3 and 6) at their home in Pittsburgh with their grandmothers for the 6-day getaway.
Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Heavenly Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe, Jeff was involved in a tragic ski accident and was knocked unconscious. Ski Patrol took him off the mountain and he was flown to the Trauma Center at Renown Medical Center in Reno.
Since the impact, he has not regained consciousness. He has been in the Intensive Care Unit since his arrival. He is in excellent hands at the ICU. What is known, is that Jeff has suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. We are now praying he soon regains consciousness so the extent of his injury can be determined, and his path to recovery can begin. As of 7 February, we don’t know what that will entail.
The family welcomes and appreciates all positive thoughts and prayers for Jeff and his family.
Jeff will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. There will be financial struggles as Rachael is a full-time mother of three. There will be expenses insurance does not cover.
