Gas Money, Groceries and Bills, Oh My!

I was very hesitant to set up a page like this, but several people have encouraged me to do so. Neither of us like asking people for money. Mom worked long after she was well enough to truly do so, and she says it's the thing she misses the most. I would love to have a steady paycheck, but I feel very strongly that we need this time together. Just about all of our bills are at least one month behind. The mortgage, car payment, insurance, utilities, cable/Internet...it's getting so overwhelming. Especially with the health issues we're dealing with now.

Mom has been battling lung cancer (along with fibrolyalgia, neuropathy, diabetes...) for three years now. Despite fighting it off all this time, it has now spread to her ribs, causing her additional tissue, nerve and bone pain. The doctors have told us that additional chemo would only cause her body more harm, so she has been moved to home hospice care. We're both very glad that we can get this kind of care and allow her to still be at home. The hospice staff is currently working to manage her pain, and she's already feeling much better than she was in the hospital.

To those of you who are able to help in this way: Mom and I are genuinely humbled by your generosity. We're both used to being the ones who are helping others. In fact, it makes us much more comfortable to be on the giving end than the receiving. But, as I've been told many times in the past week: let the people who want to help give you the help you need. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

To those of you who are not able to help in this way: we know that everyone is struggling right now. Your thoughts and prayers mean everything to us, and we thank you for having us in them.

L'Chaim. To life. Merci and thank you.

The resurrection of this campaign has me doubly humbled. I can't change the profile picture, because I truly believe my mom has a hand in this generosity from beyond this earthly plane. Thank you to everyone who is thinking of.me in this difficult time. I hate being the person with his hand out. That isn't how my mama raised me. But thank you for understanding that I DO need help right now.

I can't tell you how grateful I am for all the support you've given me over the past few weeks. I miss her every day, and I've even had some bouts of anger as Fiddler gets close to opening night. She talked about getting to see me play this part again for 25 years, and now I can't share in her enjoyment of getting to see it.

Unfortunately, I'm looking at one more month of financial destitution. I've brought the bills down as much as I can (and even paid them all, thanks to you!), but I'm going to have $1,700 less this month to take care of everything. And I won't be able to have an estate sale until September.

I'm extremely humbled by the overwhelming support (imagine me, humbled...). But if there are still a few angels out there who can help me through one more bump in the road, I would be eternally grateful.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

After realizing wepay had the wrong bank account info from me, the donations finally made their way to me today. I've already made a mortgage payment, a car payment and paid the car insurance.

Utilities are next, when/if I get the funds for them.

Thank you, everyone, for your generosity. I know Mom is smiling right now.

Another day, another set of puzzles to solve. Mom is having trouble swallowing, so we're working on adjusting her placement when she drinks or takes her medicine.

WePay is having issues transferring the money to the bank account, so I'm working to get that solved.

I'm supposed to be in Mesquite and Irving at the same time tonight, so we'll see how that works out.

Gotta love it!

Because you're one of the best people I know. You deserve it during this rough time. I can't afford much, but I adore you. I hope things get better soon.
