Jamie Comer- Life Saving Fund

Dear family, friends, loved ones, business associates, and extended family,

My sister Jamie is fighting for her life, and we need help. She was diagnosed March 6 with colon cancer and liver cancer. The American Medical Association (AMA) Oncologists classify her diagnosis as non-curable. Jamie is an amazing woman and loving single mother to an 8-year old daughter who is the joy of her life. It's terrifying for all of us, and painfully sad and unthinkable for a woman who 3 months ago was literally in the prime of her life.

Her GI cancers are widespread and the conditions of her health change rapidly and are not predictable. She has undergone 5, three-day long chemotherapy sessions that are extremely debilitating and leave her very ill and fragile. In chemo circles, this is recognized as an extremely aggressive treatment plan. The good news is that she been a “super responder.” More chemo would be counterproductive at this point. Even so, several oncologists in San Francisco will not say she is a candidate for a life-saving liver resection surgery. Instead they recommend radiation only. Radiation only puts the possibility of her survival in the single digits. There is extreme urgency now as Jamie has been hard at work researching.

In fact, Jamie’s urgent and sole occupation of late has been researching and finding a surgeon who is willing to perform a much needed liver resection. The leading surgeon in colon cancer and metastatic liver cancer is located at Baylor University in Houston, Texas and has agreed to perform her liver resection surgery on July 7. Because he is “out of network,” her insurance does not cover this surgery. It is for this reason we reach out now. Because Jamie also has colon cancer and may need an additional surgery for an additional resection, the funds will also be used for alternative therapies.

Jamie is a fighter. She is fighting harder than anyone I have ever known with this kind of diagnosis.

I believe my younger sister can and will survive this diagnosis, and Jamie has determined that a hybrid AMA/Alternative care treatment plan will produce the best outcome: a long and joyful life in which she can raise her child. Jamie also has the belief that she can and will live, and we pray for her compete recovery. Committing to this belief is taking up the majority of her personal, spiritual, and emotional resources. She is very busy with appointments and therapies that are working.

The real issue is that this all requires prayers, hope, and generosity. We have lots of people praying for Jamie and hope you will join us. We are asking for financial support via this site. I ask you from the depth of my soul to help Jamie raise her child by helping her stay alive. If you cannot donate, please pray with us for her and her daughter Olivia. I am committed to doing all I can to save my sister, and am so incredibly grateful for any support you can provide.

God bless you,
