Join Jaimee's Fight Against Bone Marrow Failure

Donation protected
Within the last few months, Jaimee Corcoran's whole world has been turned upside down and her future is an unknown.  She has been diagnosed with not 1, but 2 rare and serious blood diseases. The first one, very severe aplastic anemia (VSAA), is a condition in which her bone marrow is no longer producing enough red blood cells to carry oxygen, white blood cells to fight infections, or platelets to control bleeding.  The second one, Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) causes her own immune system to destroy the few blood cells that she does have.

These diseases have greatly lowered her quality of life.  She can't work.  She is always exhausted.  She often doesn’t feel well doing even the most routine daily tasks. Worst of all is that she is missing out on time with her two boys, Hunter and Parker (and we can’t forget the 2 dogs and 2 cats!).  Jaimee is constantly going to doctor appointments for various tests and procedures which have included a bone marrow biopsy, frequent platelet and red blood cell transfusions, CT scans, x-rays, an EKG, and neverending blood draws.  She is currently undergoing immunosuppressive drug therapy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  Luckily, she has had her husband Don by her side every step of the way and her family is helping take care of her boys (and her furbabies).

While we’re all hoping her current treatment drastically improves her quality of life, the reality of this is that the only cure is a bone marrow transplant.  While a transplant hasn’t been scheduled yet, her doctor is getting everything ready for when the time comes. All 3 sisters have been tested, but we're still waiting for the results.  However, her doctor said there are multiple unrelated matches on the donor list in case none of the sisters turn out to be a match.

The road ahead for Jaimee is a long and difficult one.  Your kind donations would mean the world to her and our family. It will help cover her medical bills and travel expenses.  Let’s help Jaimee get through this so she can get back to the life she loves!

Please keep the prayers coming and keep Jaimee and all of our family in your daily thoughts.  We thank you for your love and support.
