Jacob saves Alyssa

Jacob Wendell, age 7 years, wrote this letter to his little sister, Alyssa. Alyssa was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at 12 months old.  They currently live in Olympia, WA where their  father is  a firefighter for the US Army. 

Alyssa needs a lifesaving bone marrow transplant. Jacob is a perfect match. The transplant process is scheduled to begin on July 8th. Alyssa will need to spend 4 months in the hospital after the transplant to recover. The family will move to the Ronald McDonald House in Seattle while she and her brother recover from surgery.
