In 2018, the health of Josh's wife started to deteriorate without warning or reason. Over the course of several months they visited numerous doctors in search for answers. Due to the absence of a definitive diagnosis, none of these visits were covered by their medical insurance. After several more months and countless other visits with medical specialists, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare neurological disorder that is commonly associated with cancer. 

A year after her first visit, her health had declined to the extent that she had become dependent on a wheelchair. 

Further medical tests revealed that she had developed cancer and it was explained by the doctors that during the first year her cancer had been too small for current medical tests to detect, and so, the deterioration of her health was resultant of her body’s natural response to that cancer. 
 
Recently, she has completed several rounds of chemotherapy, and is currently having surgery to remove the cancerous cells. It is unclear at this point whether her health and quality of life will be fully returned to normal. 

Together, Josh and Catherine have two very young kids.

This gofundme account was setup by close friends of Josh and is intended to raise money in order to offset some of the incurred medical expenses and show them support from their extended family.
