Irish Center Nonprofit Fundraiser

$3,455 of $100,000 goal

Raised by 25 people in 20 months
The newly formed not-for-profit, Commodore John Barry Arts & Cultural Center, a 501(c)(3), is purchasing the building known as the Irish Center.

The Commodore John Barry Arts & Cultural Center will purchase the building known as the Irish Center and continue the mission of the Society of Commodore John Barry USN to provide and promote Irish culture and arts within the Philadelphia area.

This change for the Philadelphia Irish community to organize and operate as a not-for-profit organization has a steep cost in terms of the transfer taxes that need to be paid in order to complete the real estate transaction.  The Commodore John Barry Arts & Cultural Center is looking to raise $100,000 over the course of 2017 to address the transfer taxes and any additional operational costs.  Raising these funds will be a major task, but we can do it with your help.  Please consider donating to this endeavor so that we can continue to keep our organization prosperous and an asset to the Philadelphia community.

Donations are tax deductible.

Thank you so much for your support!
