This is hard to say. So here it goes..
Aleks has recently been diagnosed with recurrence of Ocular Melanoma. Cancer has now spread to Alek's brain, lungs, lymph nodes, stomach, and liver. Because of this, there is no good outcome.
As you can imagine, this has been incredibly shocking for her and her family - her husband, Brett, and two-year old daughter, Odelia.
At this moment, Aleks undergoes immunotherapy treatments, as a way to suppress/reduce cancer cells. This aims to prolong her life as much as possible.
Aleks' diagnosis and treatment has a lot of impacts on her and her family, including a variety of financial costs. She has had to leave both of her jobs and the family will have to sell their home.
No one expects to be put in this situation. And asking for help is challenging and not an easy thing to do. But, she is putting the needs of her family first.
The funds raised would support Aleks, Brett, and Odie as they go through this incredibly difficult time. Contributions go a long way to ensuring Aleks' quality of life is the best it can possibly be given her diagnosis. It means they can spend meaningful time together - with slightly less worry.
