Get Skye Walking Again
Donation protected
My name is Danika and my best mate is my border Collie Skye. Skye is three years old and loves to work cows. She is my partner at work and we spend our days together moving cows in B.C.'s beautiful Cariboo country.
Nov 4, 2016 she was struck by a reckless driver while we were moving cows along a backroad. Skye was doing her job and turning some runaway cows into the gate when a speeding truck drove by running over her backend.
We immediately rushed her to the vet after x-rays and an over all examination it was determined that Skye has dislocated both her hips and is unable to walk at this time and will need surgery. She only sustained minor road rash to her belly with a few open wounds.
I am thankful that she is alive and in good spirits.
To get Skye back walking and back to doing what she loves (working cows with me) she needs to go down and see an orthopedic surgeon for open surgical reductions to have toggles and pins put in to place in both her hips.
Although she may not be able to go back to working she will be able to walk and live a comfortable pain free life.
Skye means the world to me she is more than just a working companion she is my partner and buddy.
The money raised will go towards Skye's surgery, medications, and intensive therapy recovery. Any amount left over will be donated to the BC SPCA.
Thank you so much for reading our Story. With the severely expensive vet costs I cannot begin to express my deep gratitude and thanks for everyones help in this.
If you are unsure about donating you can check out my ETSY shop and purchase a custom made item.
