After participating in Campus MovieFest at Indiana University, our award winning film, Illusion, went on to screen in Hollywood, California in the summer of 2015. We have now been presented with the opportunity to take things to the next level and have our film shown with the Cannes Film Festival in France this May!
What is Cannes Film Festival and what does it mean for the Vanguard/Illusion team?
Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious international film festivals out there. For decades, it has provided filmmakers from all over world, the opportunity to promote, discover, and support films. It is an opportunity to promote networking and between filmmakers from all over the world.
Films that have came through Cannes have went on to be box office hits, Academy Award winners, and game changers for the filmmakers involved in the making.
Attending Cannes Film Festival would be our opportunity to take the next step into the world of professional filmmaking. We would be provided with opportunities to attend screenings, workshops, and events with industry professionals. We will get to network, share ideas, walk the red carpet, and even invite those that we meet to private screenings of our own film.
What is Illusion?
Illusion is the fourth film in an ongoing series in the Vanguard "cinematic universe".
It is the story of a psychiatrist, Mira, who explores the dark past of, Illusion, a war veteran using magic to cope with his post war trauma. Mira quickly finds that there is no match for Illusion, only participants in his elaborate show. 
Who is the Illusion cast and crew?
The Illusion/Vanguard crew is a collection of talented and passionate film students whose goal is to create interesting, entertaining, and fun movies working in positions they one day hope to pursue professionally. This crew has been working together since November of 2014 and has plans to continue producing more short films both within and outside of the Vanguard universe.

Why do we need funding for Cannes?
With your help, the cost of attendance for three young filmmakers traveling to this festival can be covered in full.
While our monitary goal may seem like a ambitious target, it is merely a fraction of what our expenses will be.
We will be traveling to Cannes, France and staying for the duration of the festival (May 11th-22nd).
Below is a breakdown of the full expenses:
Program fees- $2,900 (per person)
Airfare - $1,200-$1,400 (per person)
Additional travel expenses/consumables - $500 (per person)
Our hope with this campaign, is that we can raise enough money to cover the cost of two plane tickets.
With your help we can ensure that we can make this dream a reality. We can take this opportunity to bring three young filmmakers abroad to share the work and passion we've created.
