Help Ifasina Pay For Medical Tests

My wife has suffered from body aches and chronic fatigue for a very long time. She is only 35 years old and often says she feels much much older. Seeing traditional doctors has left her disappointed without answers and no plan of treatment. Traditional doctors have not been able or willing to look past her weight. After doing some research on her own she found a doctor that specializes in the immune system. This doctor is dedicated to finding solutions for patients diagnosed with chronic health conditions that other doctors didn’t have answers for. He found that the immune system was the common denominator amongst all of these conditions. It didn’t take long to figure out that the medical approach to these conditions was inadequate. Patients often get ignored, the lab reports get ‘treated’ and the person is left with the remaining symptoms. This is the story of most of My wife's adult life. After one exam and talking about her symptoms it seems My wife most likely has been suffering with an autoimmune disease for years now. The next step is diagnostic testing and finally a treatment plan that will actually make a difference in her quality of life. Fat bias from medical professionals is a rampant and familiar experience to most, if not all, fat people who have ever seen a doctor. When fat bias shows up in a doctors appointment, it's often expressed through blaming any symptom the patient is experiencing on their weight and refusal to look further into any health concerns until the patient loses enough weight to be considered ‘healthy otherwise’. This often results in under-diagnosis, misdiagnosis, and medical negligence leading to unnecessary exasperated health conditions. For years, this has been Ifasina’s experience in their attempt to address inexplicable symptoms that have concerned them. Fatigue that renders Ifasina bed bound for days after just a few errands and chronic pains that immobilize them unsuspectingly, concerning their wife, family and friends and yet, no doctor has been willing to look beyond Ifasina’s weight as the culprit; until now.  After years of attempts to get a medical diagnosis and treatment for these symptoms, Ifasina and their wife found a doctor that did not dismiss their needs and is willing to begin a series of investigational medical tests to design a treatment plan.  We are asking for your help to pay for medical tests and examinations that will total $3000.00. Ifasina has served the Bay Area Community as a Spiritual Life Coach, Body Positive Coach, Embodiment Coach and Soul Line Dance Teacher. They have made their services available to multiple income levels and through their work with the Young Women’s Freedom Center, serves marginalized and incarcerated women, giving direct access to low and no income communities that traditionally don’t have access to these healing modalities.
