Hope On Wheels

Hope On Wheels is a food drive for Wayside Christian Mission, a homeless shelter located in Louisville, KY.  Wayside serves about 2000 meals daily to the homeless and hungry, as well as, providing a Christian shelter for about 500 people nightly.  You can find out more about Wayside by going to www.waysidechristianmission.org or www.hotellouisville.org.  Many sponsors of this food drive are pledging a penny a mile for each mile the agency's CEO travels while riding his bike from St. Augustine, FL to San Diago, CA.  The trip should be about 2900 miles and a penny a mile will be a donation to the Mission of about $29.  As the colder weather is approaching, the Mission will expand its services to house as many as 600 people daily. As the temperature drops below 35 degrees, volunteers will go to homeless camps and attempt to bring the homeless into the shelter.  Food services will be stretched as they are each winter and your support will be greatly appreciated. The Mission's CEO, Tim Moseley made a coast to coast trip in 2017, raising over $18,000 for Wayside's food budget.  Tim is 62 years old, average health and conditioning.  He will camp and stay in low-cost motels during the trip.  He plans to capture video daily and interview homeless people he encounters as he pedals his bike solo across America!
