From homeless to business ready

Donation protected
I am changing the story as all of you have read how my daughter and I became homeless and so instead I want to tell you a sum up, an update, and a thank you. Even though we did not even come close to our goal which stopped us from starting up business in 2016 at least we have stopped to smell the roses, and garbage along the way and learned to appreciate each step.

Well 2015 and 2016 turned out to be a hard year. You remember us asking you for help to get out of homelessness (living in our car) to starting our own business to be able to control the outcome of our lives on our terms. No more depending on work and getting laid off and repeat, then work and repeat again.  Sounds like washing ones hair but of course it is the going rate of how someone becomes homeless.

We met many wonderful people on our journey, we learned what real friendship  and family is and we learned that our goal to start a business was and is the greatest way to become not only self sustaining and sheltered, but to also create great wealth. We also learned from listening to other homeless peoples' stories. My faith was shaken and crumbled as our church did not offer aid or assistance in any way, not even friendship. So now I ponder faith and religion, but that is a whole other path. In our journey so far I learned that my purpose on this earth is to help others.

This is wonderful as it falls directly in our business plans. While we lived in our car we helped other people gain housing, gain employment, and long talks and learning to view the situtaion and the world in a kinder and different light. Yet we were still living in our car.  Finally we both found some work, erratic but it is work to help with getting the ever needed immediate shelter.

We now live in a 5th wheel camper and renting a spot on a lot for very affordable. However as our journey appears to not be over we have to move. We don't know where to put our shelter, we still have only found erratic work, and again we are being hit with another lovely challenge of moving our 5th wheel. You see we don't have a truck to move it, and we don't have another place to move it too. We may be forced back into our tiny little car through winter once again (thank goodness for cuddling to keep warm).

As far as our business idea, I have completed the first level of classes to prepare me for business and laws, completed the food safe certification and now looking for a kitchen to run the business out of, and find a bank to accept me for a business loan. I used every penny towards this plan and with our work, we put in what we can towards this plan.

I just wanted to thank all those who offered help and to let you know we are not giving up. Every $10 to $400 contribution was all humbly appreciated. Thank you. We are still pushing forward and your money was used for exactly what it was asked for.  So, thank you. Your help gave us some hope in a time when we were at the lowest anyone could feel. I felt so low that death was a welcome friend, yet, I learned there too. Through helping others I am enriching someones life, that they will not endure what we have endured, and that makes living a lot more to look forward too every morning.

I am greatful for this journey. I have learned so much about myself, others, the people I need in my life, and how to help other people who want to change, make that change.  Thanks to all of you.

If  you have not had the time to donate to our plan you can still do so here, as well if you have entrepreneur advice, start up advice is also greatfully welcomed.
