Holy Family Mission trains and equips young people to become life long missionaries for the continued up building of the Church.
The sad reality is that many young Catholics have not received the formation and support to grow in their faith that they needed, and as a result vocations are dropping, marriages are failing and the general understanding of the faith has deteriorated.
Holy Family Mission sets out to help bridge the gap. We help young Catholics to Know their faith, to live their faith, and to share their faith with others. We offer a year-long program where the young people commit to knowing, living and sharing their faith, whilst living together in community. We like to think of Holy Family Mission as a greenhouse, where little shoots of faith are nurtured and become deep-rooted and fruitful in their faith.
We focus on Formation by providing our 5 pillars:
1) Spiritual Formation - Prayer, the Sacraments and personal growth in Holiness
2) Personal Formation - Growing in virtue and learning and developing new skills that can aid in their missionary work for example; music, drama, public speaking, video editing, podcasting and much more.
3) Academic Formation - Woking with Catholic Distance University and Franciscan University of Stubenville, we offer a well rounded understanding of the Catholic Faith
4) Community Life - Living, praying and working together in community, our young missionaries learn to put into practice what they have learned.
5) Mission and Outreach- through school retreats, talks, presentations, sacramental preparation and catechesis classes, our young people are given an opportunity to share with others what they have learned.
We need to raise €250,000 by September, to continue to grow and expand our mission.
The money will go towards the ongoing expenses and development of our mission and programs. Our current cost is €15,000 per young person per year. We hope to be able to offer places to 15-20 young people in the coming academic year. We rely on the generous donations of our supporters and benefactors to cover the cost of this much needed project.
