Warm welcomes from Pudge's Flock (founded in early 2018)!
I am Jo, a bird rehabilitator located in Ipswich, Suffolk. I have had years of experience hand-rearing and treating birds, and find passion in helping our feathered friends in need!
I created Pudge's Flock after rescuing a neurologically disabled female rock dove, named Pudge, back in Feb 2018. She was an inspirational bird, battling PMV which had left her neck and wing muscles paralysed. With intense care and crop feeding, Pudge began improving greately, and I vowed I'd carry on giving my all to any bird whom needs our help...So here I am, trying to change the world for our garden birds. And although Pudge isn't with us anymore, due to theft back in June 2018, she lives through my work.
I rescue trapped, distressed, injured and sick birds of all shapes and sizes. Such birds include; pigeons and doves, sparrows, tits, finches, blackbirds, magpies, and other common garden birds in the UK. I am very passionate in what I do and I believe every life, no matter how small, is worth fighting for. Please note that I do not specialise in rehabilitation of invasive species, water birds, or birds of prey.
This GoFundMe is a huge step for me. The money raised will enable myself to begin the construction of a small sanctuary for birds in Ipswich, Suffolk. This includes the buying of land, enclosures, security, food, medication and equipment stock, enrichment as well as professional veterinary examinations which will aid me in helping many a bird friend.
All donations, no matter how small, will enable us to strive towards a brighter future for our birds. Their lives matter, just as much as ours. Do also remember that helping isn't always money-related. There are many ways you can help us out, such as: sharing this fundraiser with friends and family, donating food, medication and enrichment, and being kind to our wildlife. So please, join us on this path and help us reach a beautiful goal. Myself and Olive are already enjoying our journey together, and we hope you'll join us too!
