Help Teddy Live

UPDATE:
Teddy had cancer, unfortunately there was hardly a chance for him. He's passed away and no longer in pain.
I'm not sure as to how to stop taking donations, but please send your money to a pup who's still fighting ❤️ thank you all so much for your support and love with teddy. I will never forget it.

Teddy is an 8 month old Australian Shepherd puppy. He is the light of our lives, and he is what inspired me (his mum) to study dog grooming, and his dad to study dog training. He is our baby and we would do anything to see him healthy and happy.
On the 14th of October Teddy contracted Kennel cough. He is vaccinated against it but some puppys (like Ted) are unlucky enough to still get it. The vet told us that he should recover on his own with no need for medicine.
On the 20th of October Teddy didn’t really want to eat his diner, we put it down to his kennel cough and waited a night to see if he ate his breakfast the next morning.
On the 21st he ate a little bit of his breakfast but was pretty disinterested. We noticed he wasn’t pooing as much as he regularly would. He was quite lethargic, and as a puppy who usually gulps down their food and bounces off the walls, we decided we should take him to a different vet for another opinion. This vet checked his temperature and saw that Ted had a fever. He said that this temperature is from the kennel cough and that he isn’t eating because of his temp. He also said he isn’t pooing quite as much because he isn’t eating as much. He gave Ted a shot and a course of antibiotics and said that if he isn’t better by Monday, come back because the Kennel cough may have turned into pneumonia.
On the 23rd we took Teddy to yetnanother vet. Teddy was refusing all food, vomiting, and had a high fever. He could barely walk and was staring off into space. This vet was very thorough and looked over every aspect of Teddy. He concluded that Teddy’s lethargy and lack of appetite was unrelated to his Kennel cough and may be a blockage in Teds intestine (As with many young pups, he could have eaten something he wasn’t supposed to, and we did see Teddy destroy one of his squeaky balls around the time he stopped eating).  They sedated him and took him for an X-ray. There was no obvious blockage, but there was a build-up of gas in his intestines. Plastic and rubber do not show up on X-rays like metal does, so we were hopeful he had just eaten a toy that could be easily removed. They took some blood from him for testing and he was put on a drip and given a concoction of medicine. His temp was still dangerously high so he stayed at the vets for monitoring overnight.
Its now the 24th, Teddy had an X-ray in the morning to see if the build-up of gas had grown/moved. The X-ray showed nothing clear so we agreed with our vet that the best course of action would be surgery to see if there was a blockage in Teds intestines. We were still hopeful he had just eaten his toy and that they would remove it, close him up and he would could home tomorrow.
Unfortunately, what they found was a lot worse.
His intestines were clear of any blockage. But his liver looked like that of a 20 year old dog. It is covered in spots and heavily inflamed.  His pancreas is 3-4x the size of what it should be and his blood tests came back showing he is struggling.
The reality is we don’t know what’s wrong with Ted. He has a pancreas sample and two liver samples going off to be tested. They have been marked as urgent but still may take 2-3 days. He is on 3 antibiotics, being administered through his drip. Hopefully these will keep him stable until the results come back. The vet has told us that at this point, he has a 50/50 chance of survival, and if he does get better he will have liver problems for life. He could have a congenital disease, he could have been poisoned, he could have cancer. We just don’t know until we get the results from those tests back. Hopefully the medicine he is on will keep him stable until then.
Everything comes at a cost though, and his medical bill is already in excess of $3,000. We still don’t know what is wrong with him and how much his on going treatment will cost, but we know we need your help to keep Teddy alive. Teds dad and I are both students and have no idea how we are going to pay for his treatment, but we will do anything to see him healthy again. Please help and donate to our baby boy. Anything and everything counts
Thank you so much
