Help Save Ramsay's Life

Donation protected
Ramsay is one of my best friends.

Ramsay
was diagnosed with a rare cancer 4 weeks ago.  Statistically with standard Chemo/Radiation she would not even survive a year.

But there is great hope. There is an FDA approved treatment by an MD in the US that gives her a 71% chance of arresting her cancer and a 43% chance of complete remission, where the cancer is no longer present. These are the actual published statistics.

She was accepted onto their program, and this alone was NOT easy.  They use cutting edge medical technology and targeted treatment matched specifically to kill her cancer. Medicare insurance will not cover any of this including the two FDA approved tests she needs.

Ramsay is a strong vibrant person.
Her mother lived into her 90's so Ramsay should have decades left. Decades. There is NO history of cancer in her family at all. She doesn't smoke and rarely drinks and eats very healthy and is generally in good shape mentally and physically. She CAN beat this.

All we have to do is get her there and plainly this takes money.

Ramsay has been a great help to others over the last 4 decades and deserves help. In better times, she helped fund many, many humanitarian efforts, from drug education to major disaster relief to literacy projects and a project that helps to bring forward a person's natural abilities so they can do better in life.  At one time, she and her ex-husband had a special school above his business to tutor students and she later got many, many full sets of books into the hands of people who couldn't afford them or get access to them. This book project alone took $70,000 to implement; and over her lifetime she has given over $500,000 to help other people. She was awarded a status of Patron of Honor and a founding Cornerstone member from two organizations for her help.  But conditions and fortunes sometimes change, and now Ramsay is the one who needs the help.

She needs her friends now to pull together and help her to save her life.

Medical expenses and how funding on this site works:
Ramsay needs this money for her targeted gene tests, her treatment for 4 to 12 months (average), the lodging/travel to the Texas medical center and some living expenses as she cannot work while getting treated. Fortunately the way this site works for medical funding, she can start paying out the money as soon as she has enough to start any procedures.  Initially, to get there and begin testing and treatment is about $60,000. (The tests alone are about $15k of this). All of it is FDA approved but is cutting edge medicine, which is WHY they can get the results they do. Her cancer will not wait, so as soon as she has enough of the funding to go and start, she is on a plane.

Some may not be able to give much and that's okay; anything and everything is very appreciated.

Some may not have cash but have credit cards they are willing to use to help her. THAT would be awesome.

Some seeing this, may have been very successful in life, and could perhaps fund half of it or even fund all of it and I am asking you to do it if you can. I too once had a business that made me a lot of money and I helped friends and even complete strangers who deserved the help; so  I have done this myself.

Why doesn't Medicare cover it if it is FDA approved? You may or may not know, but drug companies lobby for years to get their drugs on the approval list for Medicare.  A Forbes article stated: "In 2016, of the ten drugs with the biggest Medicare spend, only three had been on the market for fewer than 12 years: that is to say, those three are relatively recent innovations. The other seven drugs had been on the market for an average of 16 years."

This is WHY.  Bureaucracy.

This is also why the EPA still uses terribly toxic chemicals to "clean up" after a big oil spill instead of using highly effective non-toxic substances that have been WAITING for YEARS to get approved on their list. I happen to know this personally.

So it is up to us.  And for this treatment, time is of the essence.

If ANYONE can beat this Ramsay can, as she is very determined, but to do that, we need to get her there FAST.

She just needs a chance. She needs our help.
