Our beautiful island Sri Lanka (formerly British Ceylon) is hit with the first tropical cyclone of the season in the Bay of Bengal. Cyclone Roanu has caused a massive devastation, producing deadly flooding and mudslides, leaving thousands of innocent lives in a devastation.
STORY
Torrential rain for 3 continous days,
Devastating mudslides at Mount Aranayaka has buried the village 30 ft under mud,
200 families missing and feard dead... rescuers still pulling bodies from the mud,
Deadly flooding in the valley of Keyaliya river has left more than 400,000 people affected with over 300,000 homeless,
Meanwhile, cyclone Roanu will continue in Sri Lanka, elevating the flood and mudslide threat the next few days.
