Help Milagro, an 8 wk old stray puppy savagely attacked by dogs!

Luckily, she was rescued from the dogs, but extensive damage had already been done.  We registered her under "Champ" as we guessed it was a boy, but changed it to Milagro ("Miracle") when we learned her gender.  She earned this name by surviving a completely severed left jugular artery, fractured left orbital ridge, many other gashes and trauma.
Unfortunately, the emergency visit has cost over $3600.00 in less than 24 hours and she still requires extensive care.

Right when her wounds were healing and thought she would be released , we found out she had Parvo, which require her to stay longer and drove the cost of care over our originial goal of $7,000.  This required us to increase our goal to $10,000 and offically making her the most expensive dog we NEVER owned.

I am the sole income and currently charging the costs on an emergency card that is quickly reaching its limit. This is why we are reaching out for any help you and those you know can give. Thank you and we'll keep you updated.

God Bless.

I Made It Home

I just wanted to let you know that I made it home.
The journey wasn’t an easy one, but it didn’t take too long.

Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh and new. I wish that you could close your eyes and that you could see it too.

Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand God is taking care of me…I’m in the shelter of His hands.

Here there is no sadness, no sorrow, and no pain.
Here there is no crying and I’ll never hurt again.

Here it is so peaceful when all the angels sing.
I really have to go for now…I’ve just got to try my wings.

Hi everyone.
It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you all, Milagro (Puppy Champ) went to the Lord to run in the fields of heaven this morning. She was held in my loving arms surrounded by the Vergi staff and our family as she past. Her spirit was a fighter but her body couldn't last with all that it had been through.
Thank you to all who helped us and who gave thier loving words. Thank you to the Vergi staff, who grew to love her as much as we did and who worked so hard to try to save her. Your help allowed us to do more for her than we would have been able to do on our own.
It was unfortunate events that brought her to us but I am happy that for a short time she was here she finally knew love and kindness rather than being sick and alone on the streets.
Thank you all again for everything.

Hi everybody,
I think we are beginning to see the up swing (fingers-crossed).
This amazing puppy ate her dry food every 2 to 4 hours last night. The blow-out diarreha she has been having did not happen last night! (Woo-hoo!) She still may have some but I pray that it won't be because her backside is so very, very raw. Millie's veins are blown making any extensive blood work impossible with the only alternative to go through a jugular vein, which needs to be an "only option" scenario to use. For now, they are only checking sugar levels from her ears. This is really good compared to where she was just two days ago.
We are claiming she will continue improve and we will have ensured a foster family for her after she gets out. She will be Parvo contagious for up to 6-weeks after so someone without pups or with pups older than 3 years old with an isolated space with tile (or flooring that can be cleaned with a bleach solution) would be ideal for her.
As always, thank you to everyone! Of course, my personal thank you to God for his continuous presence and healing works. Also for the hard lesson of seeing the possible he showed me through the sights, situations, and people that said it was impossible.
Attached are photos from Wednesday's visit.

Hi everybody.
From my last update things appeared to get the worst they have been since Milargo has been in the animal hospital. All veins are blown and one of the blown veins has turned into a wound, which the hospital is addressing but they had not been able to start another IV. Milagro's temp dropped and had to have a Bair Hugger to slowly raise her temp. She had swelling due to low protein levels. The staff had to revert back to syringe feedings because she was unable to eat on her own. However, glucose levels and hydration were holding in normal ranges. This was yesterday.

Now as of this morning, this wonderfully tough creature, who is living up to her name...ate a whole meal and the diarrhea has turned from a bloody brown to a tan color, which is a good sign from what I'm told. Bonus - Looks like the sutures on her neck may come out today.
We pray this is the corner we have needed her to turn to start a real recovery. We have maxed out our credit card and are working with the wonderful staff at Vergi to work something out. For those who have given or are following the updates, I hate to ask for anything more but if you can please share this as we hope to clear the card to make room for more charges.
