Support Home Invasion Victim Mario

Hi Everyone, I want to thank you for stopping by this page. My name is Sara Shreve and I am starting this campaign for one of my Dream Team Students, Mario Bran. I am writing this as Mario's first home was recently vandalized and broken into leaving nothing but destruction behind.

I work in Corporate Affairs for the Cisco Networking Academy. One of the programs I contribute to annually is the Cisco Live Dream Team. Where a group of NetAcad students are selected to work side by side with Network Operations Engineers or the NOC. The Dream Team and the NOC then work in collaboration to set up the wireless network for various events, such as; GSX, Cisco Live, NBA and others.

I met Mario last August when we arrived on site in Las Vegas for the GSX Dream Team. We deployed 1090 Access Points, 200 Catalyst Switches and had a 99.9% up rate for the network. During this 10 day period I watched Mario take leadership roles when working with the other students. He was constantly in communication with the NOC team, the contractors we were working with making sure everything was accomplished on time and in a professional manner. Mario showed his interest in the IT industry grew while in meet and greets with executives and while on site.

When planning for Cisco Live 2016 knowing it was going to be in Las Vegas, we reached out to Mario to see if he would be interested in returning to the Dream Team as Captain. He accepted with excitement. I was able to set up an onsite interview for him, as well as have him join the rest of the team in 16 executive meet and greets. This was of course after setting up 45 miles of cable, deploying 650 AP’s and 500 Switches to provide network to over 1000 sessions in over 2.8 million square feet of convention space. Mario made sure to share his knowledge from his previous Dream Team experience with the new team. He joined study sessions with the group, as the students were all prepping for their certification exams. Again when working with Mario at Cisco Live over this ten day period he continued to impress me.

While on site, he mentioned to me that he had recently bought a house. When telling me about the remodel work he had put into his house, he was glowing with excitement and pride. Since doing updates to the house, he has not been able to live in it yet. As new windows, sinks, flooring and more have been put in by himself with a little help from a local contractor.

We have now been off site for nine days, back to our regular day to day life. The Dream Team has kept in close contact using the WhatsApp and texting each other daily. We were all shocked to hear that Mario’s house had been broken into on Monday (7/25) night. The people that broke into his home smashed and broke all of his windows, stole faucets, chairs, tools and even cleaning supplies. They even went as far as smoking in his home, completely destroying all of the hard work, effort and money that Mario has put into his first home. The team decided that setting up a GoFundMe account would be one way that we could try and help Mario out.

Please help us, help Mario. He doesn’t deserve to deal with the stress of trying to rebuild his house with no funds. Anything you can donate will help, if you are unable to donate please share this with your social network. We appreciate anything you can do to help Mario!

Last but not least, Mario, we are here for you! Don’t ever forget that!

Thank you,
