Dear friends, family, and supporters of James,

Thank you for supporting James on his journey to restored health. James is now at Oasis of Hope Hospital and receiving excellent, innovative, and caring treatment.  At this time the treatment team is working on strengthening  James’ immune system to help his body fight the cancer as well as developing a vaccine to specifically target the type of cancer James has.  This is cancer care at its most innovative; it’s clear that Oasis of Hope is exactly where James needs to be!

It is critical that James continue to receive the life-saving treatment he is getting. Your support will make that possible. We are grateful for every donation received, and more is needed  for James to continue his treatment.

Join me in saying yes to life for James! Please give any amount you can, share this message, and ask others to donate.

James passed at 4 am this morning. Enso house has been amazing and provided the space for James to make his transition with dignity and grace. Yvette described this morning as "perfection, so sacred, beyond beautiful" and expressed her deep gratitude for the holding space of Enso house and support provided by the Enso team, Jill, Ann, and Dotsie. They have been truly amazing.

James was able to transition exactly as he’d wanted it. The room was filled with music. All of James’ favorite songs and his own music was playing on a loop on his phone under his pillow all night long. At his passing, Yvette played the Hapi drum, a gift from friends. The Hapi drum is an amplified steel drum bowl. As Yvette played, Pamela and Bennie woke up and felt James’ energy reverberating through the house with the drum at the time of his crossing.

This morning Yvette and Bennie did a ceremonial washing of James’ body, with herbs from the garden, flowers, Yvette’s hair, frankincense & myrrh. Next door to Enso house there is a Buddhist monastery. At 9:00 this morning three monks came and to chant and help James spirit move on.

Last night Yvette and I talked about the idea of magical realism, where magical elements blend to access a deeper understanding of reality. I can't help but feel that all the sacred elements of this journey are an invitation to be with this realm, witness the deep connections we all have, and hold sacred the web that cradles us.

As Yvette walks the next stage of this journey that web of connect will continue to be important for her. Donations will help her have space to grieve and consider what is next. Careweb messages will continue to be a way for Yvette to feel your support in the moments when she needs to feel most connected.

Things have been shifting quickly for James and Yvette over the last couple weeks. They are back in Washington and now at an amazing hospice facility called Enso House, on Whidby Island, WA. Yvette says James is “gracefully walking the edge of life and death,” and Enso House has the space for him to love people the way he wants to at the end of his life. It is loving and kind and rich, full of earth medicine, sunshine, birds, the smell of pines, and pear tea by the fire.

Yvette says James is “wide awake in this beautiful way. Awake to everything, multidimensional, bringing it all together.” With hospice help, there is now enough caregiving support so Yvette has room to focus on being with James, and being present, rather than so much doing. She can also take moments to be by the fire in the other room and know there’s someone sitting with James.

Ann, one of the Enso staff, is helping Yvette view her role as being like a “death doula,” birthing James into the next phase. Yvette has the sense of helping him let go so he can generate his angelic forces in a new way, and that he’s able to already see, and express to her, some of the incredible and transformational potential of what is next, and he’s ready to go. And, she and others can sense and feel the fullness of James. He amazes her.

In the picture James is with his best friend from childhood, Tarome. Tarome was able to come to spend some time with James and say goodbye. James wanted to sit up so they could hold each other, lean on each other, despite the pain, and there was support to rearrange the pillows to make that possible. While saying goodbye is incredibly hard, and there are things James might want to say that can’t be said or heard, he is able to be with people and love them fully.

James and Yvette are so grateful to all the support that has made this possible, and to every step of the journey so far. They would not have been able to be present to and embrace this part of the transition if they hadn’t done all the other things they did along the way. They are also incredibly grateful to the unknown others who have “paid forward” their experience at Enso House by giving donations that help make possible the care James and Yvette are receiving now. While their insurance covers some of it, the rest is given to them, and they invite us to support Enso House so that others can have this wonderful end of life experience in the future. Donations to Enso House in honor of James Murrell can be made here: http://www.ensohouse.org/make-a-donation/

Yvette will also welcome continued financial support to give her space and time to figure out the next steps after James passes – cremation, ceremonies, and space and time to grieve and figure out the next phase of her life.

Yvette has very intermittent cell phone service at Enso House; she can sometimes receive texts and messages, but can’t make calls. This is fitting, given that she is in a time to receive, and be present, and allow, not a time to reach out. She can still access email and the Careweb, and messages there are very welcome.

I am asking for your help now more than ever!

My situation is grave. The doctors have told me that I am terminal, with stage IV lung cancer. The doctors are clear: chemotherapy will not cure my cancer. Chemo may extend my life by 6 months to 3 years, but it will not stop this cancer from progressing and killing me. While I am not fearful of death and I am ready to go wherever the life that I the Creator have co-created goes, my life has been about going towards life and divine creativity. These doctors have only been able to speak the language death. I always want to speak the language of life.

Today I am committed to moving towards life. Right now, the best chance of continuing my life is to seek an effective alternative treatment to chemo. My family has found a hospital, Oasis of Hope that has the best track record (over 35 years) of treating late stage cancer using a blend of alternative, experimental, and traditional cancer treatments. They also provide supports for family caregivers. Since my cancer is late stage, I have nothing to lose and everything possible to gain with this type of treatment.

The doctors at this hospital have already reviewed my case and developed a personal treatment plan that will successfully continue my life. They are ready for me now, and all that remains is to fund the cost of this care. Oasis of Hope Hospital has elected to only accept private pay. They do not accept any type of insurance leaving them free to offer alternative and experimental methods of treatment.

The doctors of death have told me that with no treatment at all, I would be dead in one month. To receive this life giving therapy at the Oasis of Hope Hospital, we need to quickly raise $44,300 to cover the cost of treatment so I can be admitted to Oasis of Hope Hospital.

This is a time of great challenge for me and my wife Yvette. On the one hand we know how grave the situation is and on the other, we know that we have a solid hope that non-traditional treatment can help me as it has helped others who have had a terminal cancer diagnosis, including Jimmy Carter (that’s right!) among the famous and many not well known.

We hope that you will offer the crucial financial aid that I need to embrace that beautiful walk of life and reject the doom of death. As of now, we are far short of the $44,300 cost of treatment. We need half of that amount immediately, but can pay the other half over time. Please consider giving any amount that you can, share this request with others, and ask if they can help support my treatment.

How to send funds to pay for my treatment:

1. Donate directly via check made out to James and Yvette Murrell. Please mail checks to Yvette's mother: Jeanette Mitchell, 3930 South Lake Drive, Unit 206, Saint Francis, WI 53235

2. Send them money via PayPal at https://www.paypal.me/JamesYvetteMurrell

3. You can also contribute on the GoFundMe site: https://www.gofundme.com/helpjamesheal

Thank you so much for your consideration of support for me through this phase of my healing process!

With deep gratitude,

James
