My mom was diagnosed with a rare kind of Ovarian Cancer(Neuroendocrine carcinoma) for the first time in Japan in 2014.She had a huge mass above her ovary which was removed out performing a major surgery along with the ovary itself. As soon as she was discharged, she flew back to Nepal. That was the time when i first saw her with that disease at the airport. Rolling on a wheelchair with my sister, my tears fell off from my eyes, couldn't control it after i saw her in many years and could hardly believe it was her. Even after then i had to control my self and guide her through every possible way to treat her disease after all i am the only son.
It went all good for a year. She regained some weight and we were happy until the time it was seen again on her peritoneum. As soon as we knew that it was seen again, we started chemotherapy in Nepal cancer hospital.She underwent for ten cycles of chemotherapy. The disease did not grew for that period of time and also did not show any improvement. After a year, more cancer cells started to grow again in the abdomen and pelvic region. As it is malignant (Spreading of tumor rapidly); the tumor rapidly grew in the peritoneum and some part of liver (case of Primary Liver Cancer). The tumor also spread widely in the inner intestines as well. With this, she started having ascites in her peritoneum which made the condition more worse than ever. Then on march 2018, with the help you all, we quickly took her to china for further treatment. She underwent Immunotherapy and ascites along with chemotherapy. The expenses in China was around $25000. After a month as she came back to Nepal, the condition started becoming the same again. I flew to Nepal and took her to Manipal hospital in Banglore, India hoping for other possible treatment as the doctors from Nepal had already given up. She then was again hospitalized and after more diagnosis, the hope of HIPEC surgery was seen but the tumor then and now is so big that she again has to go through several chemotherapy in order to minimize the size and the hardness of the tumor and then gain her weight to be ready for the surgery. Being the treatment so expensive there in Banglore, we decided to give her the same chemo medicines that the doctor had prescribed from Manipal hospital. HIPEC is a very expensive method of treatment and is the last resort for patients who are struggling for their lives. This treatment is only performed in few hospitals worldwide as is very advanced procedure. Being a middle-class family in Nepal, we are unable to afford this treatment. It is said to cost around $25000 just for the HIPEC procedure.
These are all seen bills. Everyone knows that how expensive can medical bills be for the patients suffering from Cancer. The expenses are countless as you all know. There are lots of more spending to be made. We are waiting for the major HIPEC surgery to be done.As you all have heard by now that I was deported from United states recently. Everyone surely understands that every penny counts and that's what i was working on back in United states, supporting my mom to cure her in every possible way. But the situation has changed now. She needs supporters which i could't be. So, I hereby request you all to help me in this current time. Every small amount you donate will count towards the treatment.
My Mom is the rock of our lives and has always inspired us to live as honest and respectful person. She is one of the strongest person I know, and even the cancer has not been able to shake her strong personality. She has a strong belief that she can recover and get back to her normal healthy life. Please, help a helpless son in his struggles to keep his mother alive.
