Update: After Worlds
Thank you to everyone that supported us on our journey to the World Championships, from our parents, sponsors, supporters!  We wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't for all the support we received.  Our mentors especially deserve a huge thanks for all of the hours and resources they have dedicated to our team.


At the World Championships in Houston, Texas, FTC 8404 placed 19th in the Jemison Division and were a finalist for the Think Award, one of the judged awards which acknowledges teams that best document their journey throughout the season.

Help FTC Team 8404 Quixilver go to World Champs!
 Thank you to all of the parents, mentors, sponsors, and supporters that have helped the team grow and succeed, without which we could not have come this far. 


Leland High School's robotics team, FTC 8404 Quixilver, qualified to the World Championship in Houston, Texas on April 19-22, 2017.  They will be the only school represented from all of Santa Clara County.   

Teams from all over the world including Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Americas will be competing for the world FTC robotics championship title.  

Please help support their journey!

The team is raising money to help with the cost of traveling with a team of 12 members from San Jose to Houston and to buy additional parts to enhance the capabilities of their robot and fine-tune their ball shooter and precision of their sensor detection for Worlds.

FTC 8404 was featured on the Almaden Times on March 10, 2017 .








About 8404 Quixilver:
Quixilver currently has twelve members, with ten students from Leland High School and two others attending Bret Harte Middle School.  The team meets regularly at Leland High School, and is mentored by teachers Mr. Tibbs and Mrs. Arrington. The team strives to support both STEM and robotics in schools by promoting the FIRST program through team-organized events and demonstrations in their community.
