This fundraiser is to raise money to help paralyzed rescue Dachshund Biggie. Please help us help him walk again!
On March 16, 2015 4 year old Dance, also known as Biggie, became paralyzed. He was brought to the vet by his owners (they had gotten him from someone else in December 2014), where they were told he needed surgery. Unfortunately they could not afford surgery, and did not qualify for CareCredit. They brought him home that day with medicine from the vet, however when he did not want to eat and did not want to take his meds they surrendered him to the Meriden Animal Control for fear he would hurt himself. Anne picked him up the same day he was surrendered to the pound on March 17th and he is currently receiving medication, crate rest, and cold laser therapy. He had his first cold laser session and minor "adjustment" on March 18th, and second on March 20th. Each session is $35
On the evening of March 24, 2015 we brought Biggie in to Pieper Memorial Hospital where he needed to be stabilized from diarrhea (he does not have control of his bowels) and dehydration as a reslut for a few days prior to his MRI, and surgery on March 27th. On the afternoon of March 31st Biggie came home to us to start his at home rest and rehab. His total expenses while at Pieper were $4,942.51. He still does not have control of his bowels and has diarrhea his first night back. In a few weeks we will do physical therapy at Pieper Memorial's Physical Therapet.
