Heart Academy of Music is excited to open Heart House beginning this coming August, but we need your help to make it possible.
Who is Heart Academy and what do we do?
Ø Non-profit music ministry that provides free music opportunities for underprivileged families in North Springfield
Ø Summer Music Clubs, Music Fun Day, Christmas Celebration, after school programs, private music lessons
Ø Reach the community through neighborhood associations, the park board, and local churches
How are we growing?
Ø SMC 2014: 32 children, SMC 2017: 123 children
Ø Christmas Celebration 2014: 9 children, Christmas Celebration 2018: 152 children
What is the vision for this year?
Ø Continue Music Outreach Programs including SMC, MFD, CC

What is Heart House?
Ø Free after school and summer music program for young women, middle school through high school.

What is the purpose of Heart House?
Ø By giving young women, in middle school and high school, the opportunity to express themselves through music and developing a strong support system of godly role models and peers, we can help them to make sound life choices and grow in a spiritual maturity that will give them hope for a brighter future.
Ø It is the mission of Heart House to enrich the lives of young women through the gifts God has given them in music and to teach them to use these gifts to glorify God. In doing this, we desire to see each girl grow musically, intellectually, emotionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually.
What issues are Heart House addressing?
Ø The problem: rebellion, failing grades, eating disorders, unplanned pregnancies, suicide, self-mutilation, depression, abusive relationships, homelessness, drugs, alcohol, prostitution, etc.
Ø The reason: peer pressure, lack of support at home, unhealthy role models, hormones, life circumstances, media and social networks, stress, etc.
Ø The 5 key points of interest:
o Intellect
o Emotional wellbeing
o Self-image and Confidence
o Relationships
o Purpose
How can music help to address these issues?
Ø When studying music, one must acquire the following attributes:
o Intense focus
o Multitasking
o Discipline
o Responsibility
