Harvest members! We need your financial support! Fight back against Big Food.
Food co-ops across the nation are facing extreme competition from big food. Just recently, we saw another jolt as Amazon bought Whole Foods. We expect they’ll do to bananas what they’ve done to books. And that’s not good for producers or consumers like us. Our focus is on you - serving and strengthening our community of members, consumers, and local producers. Their focus is on corporate profits.
Harvest is Boston's only food co-op. Our two stores in Boston and Cambridge employ 75 of our friends and neighbors and we are fighting hard to survive and grow.
We need your financial support today and any amount will make a difference.
Your contribution today will go toward Harvest operations, equipment upgrades and purchases.
Here’s how our management team will spend some of the funds raised in our campaign:
· $8,000 for our new in-store community space. This includes tables, chairs, light construction, kitchen equipment (microwave etc) Harvest needs to be a hub in our communities and this new space will help!
· $3,500 for aisle scanners required by state law and super helpful for shoppers. Also a huge saver of labor costs as we’ll no longer need to put a price tag on every single item.
· $3,250 for an industrial strength food processor and blender for our popular deli section to help craft healthy meals-to-go for our members and shoppers.
Harvest has a proud tradition in our community and we know our members will dig as deep as they can to help solidify our vital role.
