Help Gravediggers' kids in India!

Donation protected
Hand-in-Hand is an India NGO that is associated with the children of gravediggers at the Kalpalli Cemetery in Bangalore, India.

Gravediggers are traditionally from lower castes in India, that have been historically ostracised and as a result marginalised. The kind of ecosystem their children grow up in is rife with a lot of socio - economic issues, and abuses of several kinds are common, leaving a deep psychological impact on them. They are particularly disadvantaged.

I am Geetika, from India and studying International Development. My dear friends Divya, Gleeda, Glady & Arpitha started this NGO together where they've worked really hard at providing the children with after-school tuitions with a focus on their overall holistic needs. They often often work with tight budgets, no pay and for long hours, inside the graveyard, over the tombstones!

We really want to continue supporting these kids, as stability is important for children as you can imagine, however the recent policy of the Indian government on demonitisation has slowed down economic growth in the country making fund raising harder and harder.

The $4000 we are hoping to raise is the annual budget for Hand-in-Hand. By contributing towards this cause you're ensuring that these marginalised children get the continued attention and support they need in 2017.

No sum is too small or big - trust me when I say that literally every penny matters!
