Haiti/Milous Family New Tin Roof

Donation protected
I met the only son of the Milous family, Johnson, in Haiti while teaching 4 years ago in a Physical Therapy technician program. Johnson is a promising young student who loves his Haiti and has a strong drive to help his family and countryman through education to become a Physical Therapist (of which there are few Haitians that are more than PT technicians). Johnson has been working as a technician the last couple of years and has been trying to improve his English skills to gain entrance to the only PT program in Haiti's capital city of Port au Prince. Johnson also has two younger sisters and a disabled father who is unable to work and a mother who has a cleaning job at the local Christian university where she earns less than $100/month to support the family. Johnson recently shared with me that he does not feel like he can continue with his studies until he is able to fix the families home roof which has a rusted and leaking roof that actually caved in one of the rooms during the big earthquake many years ago. They have water in their house every time it rains (which is very often in Haiti). The cost to repair and replace his tin roof and walls damaged in the earthquake is close to $4000 dollars, which will take many years with his income as a technician. My wife and I have agreed to match any funds he saves for this project up to $1000; which will be completed by thebeehivehaiti.org
a nonprofit organization operating a woodshop school and helping local orphanages. We have started this fundraising page to raise the final $2000 needed to complete the project. This photo is of Johnsons mother in her kitchen/family room where she has put up a tarp to catch the water that leaks in during rains.

We would like to replace the roof in the first half of 2018 before the rainy season starts. Please help the Milous family create a safe and clean environment to live. Any donations will help reach the goal! Let's make a difference in this families life so they can thrive.
