Research to Make More Cancer Journeys Happy

I was diagnosed with cancer in January 2019. Now, 1 year later, I'm doing well because I was lucky.
This journey has been tough in many ways but nothing compared to what I thought was waiting when I was in hospital and I my doctors started to use the word "oncologist" more and more. In fact, I am lucky enough to look back at many happy moments from my cancer journey. Starting with the moment when I first found out my diagnosis, to having my head shaved surrounded by my best friends, to laughing away with my brilliant oncologist, learning French with the many amazing nurses at HUG, and just feeling the support of my family and friends.
The reason why my journey with cancer has been as pleasant as cancer can be are numerous but most important is that I have a type of cancer that is pretty well understood and for which there are many treatment options. In a nutshell, my last few months weren't hell because other people have funded cancer research in the past (for a summary of this, see this link).
This is why I am asking you today to donate to fund cancer research.
I know from the bottom of my heart that the people at the Hopitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG) are amazing and I have every trust that the research they are doing is incredible. There are a number of brilliant research projects in oncology that are carried out by HUG doctors and that are funded through the Fondation privée des HUG, including by my own doctor. These research projects have made great strides over the past few years and have won several prizes for their groundbreaking research. Please join me in supporting this work.
Just like I have been benefiting from all the research that has happened in the past, this research could be what will benefit you, or someone you love, in the future.
