2017 HSD Back To School Camp

I'm Johnny "Swoosh" Rodriguez, creator of one-day tournament, Hoops Showdown. Always with an effort to give back, Hoops has raised money for Breast Cancer and Autism awareness, collected over 100 pounds of nonperishable goods for City Harvest, donated toys to the children of New York Presbyterian's Children's Hospital, supplied over 60 kids with school supplies and food via our Back to School camp. This year we hope to have another successful camp.
Hoops will be hosting it's third annual "Back To School" camp. Student-athletes from ages 12-18 are encouraged to participate as they will have access to professional trainers and athletes to help them navigate the game. Our special guests will also take a few moments to speak on education and how vital it is in their lives, as well as what they can do to keep themselves in shape. With high school basketball season fast approaching, we figured it would be a great idea to get the kids physically and mentally prepared for the year.
We have started this GoFundMe to raise money in order to purchase and distribute school supplies for athletes in attendance. While it may seem minor, these items can be out of reach for some families and we want to cut costs where we can.
Camp will be held in the Bronx on September 9th from 9AM-4PM. A few weeks away, which we hope, with your help, will be enough time for us to collect donations and purchase items for these talented kids. As you may or may not know, most camps range anywhere from $200-$300 PER child, but with your help, we can provide this FREE camp for 80 kids.
Hoops Showdown will appreciate anything you can do to help, whether it's monetary or supplies donation.
