H.O.P.E Outreach for Women

Donation protected
H.O.P.E. Outreach is a nighttime outreach to homeless and exploited women, as well as a safe house for exploited and abused women and children and women in recovery. H.O.P.E stands for Helping Out People Exploited and was started by two incredible women who wanted to be the voice how those vulnerable women who do not have one. H.O.P.E operates here in the small town of Kelowna B.C. and is 100% donation funded. The first aspect of H.O.P.E is the nighttime outreach. There are very limited resources in Kelowna for the homeless, specifically for women and children. H.O.P.E volunteers go out seven nights a week at dusk in the downtown core with supply bags and build relationships with the women, providing them with necessary supplies and encouraging and supporting them. Volunteers note the names and ages of these girls and women and H.O.P.E executives keep try to track the women to ensure their safety. In addition, volunteers take "bad date reports" and report instances of violence and abuse that sex-workers encounter. By having these volunteers out at night they are also about to report any license plates they see picking up women and report suspicious characters.  The second aspect of H.O.P.E is the House of Hope. This House of Hope is a safe house for women and children who are either escaping unsafe environments or are seeking recovery treatment. The house offers 10 beds for short or long term  needs and offers programs with 12 Step Meetings and the WISH Program (Women Integrating Social Health) which is an 8 week program. Ladies are helped with finding resources in the community such as doctors, counselors, and mentors and receive help with recovery plans and abuse issues. Outreach volunteers can also volunteer at the house to build relationships with the ladies and/or do other activities with them.  Ultimately, H.O.P.E is constantly seeking funding to sustain the House of Hope, as well as purchase supplies for the volunteers to hand out on the streets. With additional funding, H.O.P.E can expand and offer a variety programs for vulnerable women. H.O.P.E has dreams of expanding the House of Hope to have more beds, as well as be able to offer activities such as pizza nights and pancake breakfasts for women on the street on a regular basis where individuals can sure testimonies and stories of success, recovery, and accomplishment. Please support this phenomenal cause and assist us support these vulnerable women and girls who need our help!
