State Science Olympiad Competition

Henderson County Early College High School is located on the campus of Blue Ridge Community College in Hendersonville North Carolina. The Early College High School program is a high school program that offers college classes to its students, enabling the students to graduate in five years with not only a high school diploma but also an Associates Degree.  A team of these students recently competed in the regional Science Olympiad Competition. This group of extremely hard-working and dedicated students studied and practiced in preparation for their specific competition in addition to their already challenging classes. Their dedication paid off and they earned first place. They have qualified for the state competition in Raleigh! There will be 20 students and 4 adults attending. The students will compete in 23 events including Chemistry Lab, Code Busters, Anatomy and Physiology, Material Science, Thermodynamics, Forensics as well as Rocks and Minerals. They would greatly appreciate your help to pay for bus transportation and accomodations while they are there. The team will need accomodations for the night before because of the distance they are traveling to compete. This is the biggest competitive opportunity for their school and the team's first time qualifying for state! The competition is April 21st, so they do not have very much time to raise money to cover the expenses. The team needs to raise funds by April 15th.
